Tania Sommers
Tania’s professional experience has been mixed between two main areas: Data Analytics & Psychotherapy. This has helped her to become a positive & strategic leader with strong business knowledge and analytical skills who is also passionate about human development and positive psychology. Tania sees a deep connection between data, science and human behavior. As she works in both worlds, she believes that as technology evolves, the more human we have to become. She has 20 years of international experience in Mexico, Brazil, Canada and Spain. She held a psychotherapy private practice in Toronto, Ontario for several years. Understanding the importance of personal development and how individuals & organizations should start implementing a lot of positive psychology tools, she has been lecturing on the Science of Happiness during the last year at IE University. Tania is also a Facilitator for Google’s initiative #IamRemarkable, which aims to empower women and other underrepresented groups to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond. Tania has trained +180 women during the last 18 months. For the last 4 years, she has been in charge of Data Analytics & Innovation Projects at IE University. Tania is helping IE to develop data driven strategies to find innovative solutions on IE´s customer journey; where she can leverage her advanced analytical skills and business experience with new technologies. Her work has focused on areas such as e-commerce, Digital Transformation, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence, Digital Marketing Analytics and Robotics. Before joining IE, she worked for international companies such as KPMG, Röhm & Haas and Nestlé for 15 years in 3 different countries. Tania studied a Bachelor in Accounting & Finance at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México ( México) , a degree in Psychotherapy at the Transformational Arts College (Canada), a MSc in Business Analytics & Big Data at IE Human Sciences & Technology in 2016 and a Certificate in Happiness Studies with Harvard Professor Tal Ben-Shahar in 2020.
