James Bartram
James is a Social Entrepreneur and Pedagogue with over 20 years’ experience advancing conservation ethic and building constituency for nature conservation, with a track record of generating exponential growth. He truly believes that youth are the hope of the world, and empowers all individuals, letting them know that they are capable, powerful, knowledgeable, and important.
He has successfully designed and implemented comprehensive experiential education and youth development programs for formal education, civic institutions and youth serving agencies. His work includes the development of high school curriculum, synchronous and asynchronous online learning, service learning, outdoor education, risk management and quality assurance. James’ strategic collective impact approach often focusses on the reciprocity of creating great teaching and learning outcomes while enhancing species and habitat and advancing diversity and inclusion.
He has worked professionally for government, civil society and corporate organizations in Canada, New Zealand and the UK. James is an active member of the IUCN Education and Communication Commission and serves as the Vice President for the Canadian Committee for the IUCN.
